Oman Broadband signs pacts to boost fibre optic network

Muscat: Oman Broadband Company yesterday signed five cooperation programmes with a number of companies to enhance fibre optic network for its various projects in the Sultanate of Oman.

The cooperation programmes’ signing came on the sidelines of the activities of COMEX 2024.

Sultan bin Ahmed Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Broadband Company said that the cooperation programmes aimed to increase the fibre optic network in areas where the projects of the signing companies are located.

He said that the first programme was signed with the Wave Muscat to provide fibre optic network at the Wave Muscat for all service providers, while the second programme was signed with the new Central Vegetable and Fruit Market at Khazaen Economic zone for providing the market with fibre optic.

The third programme was signed with Adrak Developers for providing fibre optic network for the residential complex at Khazaen Economic zone, while the fourth programme was signed with Muscat Hills to facilitate access of fibre optic network to all operators in the area.

The fifth programme was signed with Globalcom (GCOM), he added.

He reaffirmed that the programme would enable Oman Broadband expand its networks to serve all governorates including the urban and the rural areas.
