Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) today held a media briefing during which it outlined its programmes for academic year 2024.
They include five basic approaches for achieving impact and leadership, as well as two new programmes to enhance future leadership and the future of work in the government sector for the directors general in the GCC states.
The first approach deals with supporting the development of an integrated system on executive learning.
The second approach lays emphasis on quality and sustainability and prioritizing them as guidelines for causing impact.
The third approach focuses on establishing rapprochement with beneficiaries from the academy’s services, notably by understanding and responding to their needs and aspirations.
The fourth approach promotes consistency by aligning local content with global trends.
The fifth approach relates to the establishment of a genre of leadership that combines flexibility, experimentation and innovation.
The two new programmes deals with the readiness of future leaders in the government and private sectors. It focuses on providing future talents with knowledge, skills, visions and strategies. They introduce measures on converting theory into tangible reality.
During the media briefing, the RAM outlined a number of programmes: These include the Programme on Policy and Strategic Planning; the National Programme For Developing Leadership and anticipating the future; the Programme For Developing The Potential Of Women Leaders; the Programme On Training New Government Employees; the Executive Strategic Planning Programme; the Professional Project Management Programme; the Flexibility and Risk Management Programme.
The business sector programmes include the National Programme for CEOs and an Endorsement Programme codenamed “Eitimad”.
The RAM pointed out that the programmes stem from the National Initiative to Develop Local Management, which covers the Governors’ Programme, the Capabilities Programme for planning and economics in the governorates, and the municipal Council Members Programme.
The Future Readiness Initiatives include forums and dialogues on future trends that aim to enable leaders to delve deeper into understanding emerging trends that shape the future of countries. They are aimed at honing the skills of leaders to deal with future developments and seize the opportunities that emanate from them, while at the same time benefiting the experiences and initiatives that make a positive impact on global economies.
The “Future Readiness Initiatives” deal with the future of governments, the economy and higher education institutions. They target leaders of the public and private establishments, partners and stakeholders in the various domains.
At the conclusion of the media briefing, Sayyid Khalid Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court (Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the RAM), launched a postage stamp that celebrates the first anniversary of the RAM opening under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
age stamp embodies the noble mission of the RAM, being a pioneering lighthouse on modern executive management in cooperation with other sectors concerned. The stamp bears a photo of His Majesty the Sultan as he inaugurated the RAM.
