Oman participates in 23rd global summit of World Travel and Tourism Council in Rwanda

Kigali: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, participates in the 23rd global summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council under the slogan (Building Bridges for a Sustainable Future), which began its deliberations in the capital of the Republic of Rwanda, Kigali.

Heads of state and delegations from all over the world and as many as 100 business leaders and CEOs of major international companies take part in the summit.

Oman’s delegation is represented at the summit by Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

Participation in the world summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council comes within the framework of the tireless efforts to enhance the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in tourism organisations as a prestigious tourist destination in the region, and a centre of attraction for international investments and events.

This summit and its accompanying events provide the opportunity to communicate with leaders in the travel and tourism industry at the regional and international levels. It also allows for a review of investment opportunities that will contribute to enhancing tourism products and services and achieving the desired diversification of the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

The summit aims to discuss how travel and tourism contribute to the development and sustainability of the economy, and their role in generating new job opportunities that contribute to the development of local communities, through multiple sessions. The sessions explore ways of strategic cooperation in the tourism and travel sector and enhance its ability to face various future challenges.

Further, the summit addresses the development and growth of the tourism sector and the search for attractions that keep pace with tourists’ requirements and meet their expectations. It also aims at striking a balance between sustainability and growth, promoting innovation through sustainable investments, and how to restore travel activity globally at a time when the sector has begun to return to its normal levels
