Stress on creativity, innovation  among teachers and students

Muscat: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiads, in cooperation with Oman Shell implemented the Shell NXplorers training programme.

The two-day event targeted five teachers supervising the programme and took place at Mall of Oman.

The training programme, presented by trainers from KidCity, included carrying out activities using the programme’s tools, such as exploration for identifying the problem, selecting appropriate text to solve it, employing the links circle tool to identify the causes of the problem, and factors affecting it.

The programme employs future thinking skills, and the planning tool to come up with better future ideas, and filtering ideas to find the best options to solve the problem.

The programme also uses the exploration tool to search for direct and indirect effects of the idea arrived at in the ideas filtering stage, ending with the persuasion pyramid that aims to provide evidence and data to communicate required ideas and presentation.

The training programme aimed to increase awareness among teachers and students in the fields of creativity and innovation, enhance the concepts of global sustainability goals, and motivate students to make positive change in society in the areas of energy, water, and food.
