1. Al Mouj Muscat Marathon 2022: Traffic to be temporarily closed

Traffic will be closed temporarily from Al Mouj Roundabout passing through the services road in North Hail in Muscat Governorate from 6 am to 12.30 pm on Friday November 11, 2022 for the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon 2022. 

"The Royal Oman Police announces a partial closure of traffic during the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon 2022, on Friday November 11, 2022 in the Wilayat of Seeb from 6 am to 12.30 pm, from Al Mouj Roundabout passing through the services road in North Hail," ROP said in a statement. 


2. One arrested for impersonating police in Oman

A person was arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for impersonating a policeman and coercive theft in Dhofar Governorate.

According to the ROP, the Dhofar Governorate Police Command arrests a person on charges of impersonating a policeman and coercive theft. The legal procedures are being completed against him.

In another case, two people were arrested also by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for stealing from several shops in South Al Batinah Governorate.

3. Green turtle returns to Oman after 20 years 

A green turtle has returned to the beaches of the Sultanate of Oman after more than 20 years of its first visit.

"The Environment Department in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate managed to spot a green turtle returning to the beaches of Ras Al Jinz in the Sultanate of Oman, more than 20 years after its first visit was recorded. The turtle was numbered (45470) in November 2001, " Environment Authority (EA) said in a statement.

4. Four arrested for possessing over 150 kgs of drugs

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has seized more than 140 kilograms of hashish and 14 kilograms of crystal drug found from four smugglers.

"The Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested four people on charges of possessing 145 kilograms of hashish and 14 kilograms of crystal drug in association with an international gang to smuggle them. The legal procedures are being completed against them," ROP said in a statement.

5. Muscat municipality imposes OMR 200 fine for sewage leakage

Now pay a fine of OMR 200 for sewage water leakage, or failure to maintain sewage system in residential buildings that may lead to leakage onto roads, public areas and neighboring residential areas. Offenders will be given one day to correct the violation. The fine will double in case of repetition.

6. Environment Authority organises coral reef cleanup campaign

The Environment Department of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate carried out today, a cleaning campaign for coral reefs in the Turtle Reserve in Ras Al Hadd Provincial Department under the title "Towards a Sustainable Environment".

 Oman News Agency reported that the Civil diving teams and community volunteers participated in the campaign. The campaign comes within the administration's concerns in the field of preserving the environment and protecting its natural resources, as well as contributing to the faster growth of coral reefs.
