Al Safar Tigerians crowned champions of T10 Indoor Bash 2022

Muscat: The Oman Cricket hosted T10 Indoor Bash 2022 powered by Dhai Al Ghobaira Trading was held from 16th-24th June 2022 with 9 participating teams - Abeer Warriors, Design Group, AKCT, Deccan Chargers, Al Safar Tigerians, Desert XI, Team Deccan, MTCL and MECC. The league stage matches were played on 16th and 17th of June, followed by the Eliminators on 23rd of June and Qualifiers and Finals on 24th of June.

The tournament was poised in a fashion such that every team got 2 matches to shy their chance to the next round. 6 teams out of 9 qualified for the next round out of which the top 2 teams directly qualifying for the qualifier whereas the teams ranked 3rd to 6th played one off games to book 2 remaining berths in the qualifiers.

The Qualifier 1 was played between Desert XI and MTCL in which Desert XI beat the later by a deficit of 6 runs. The Qualifier 2 was played between Design Group and Al Safar Tigerians in which the tigerians chased down a shallow 34 in the last over.

The final was played between Desert XI and Al Safar Tigerians. Electing to Bowl 1st , the tigerians got hold of Desert Xi’s batsman teeing them down to just 28. Al Safar Tigerians chased the target in the 8th over. Ishtiaq Rashed was adjudged Player of the Final for his brilliant spell of 2 overs - 1 maiden - 1 run and 2 iwckets. He was also Adjudged the Player of the Tournament claiming 7 wickets in all. Mr Paul Sheridan – Vice Chairman, Oman Cricket and Mr Syed Ahsan Anwar – Board Member, Oman Cricket were the Chief Guests for the dais.

Oman Cricket’s CDO , Duleep Mendis said “ It was a great tournament to have during the off season. It was intense , entertaining and action filled. Indoor Cricket is growing around the world and with the state of art facility we have, I'm sure the teams have had a great experience. We look forward to expand in such stature to bring in different groups of teams looking forward to be a part of the sport.”
