Indian School Muscat crowned U16 champions
The MCCC fell short and were bundled out for 166 in 28.4 overs.

Muscat: ISM U-16 beat MCCC Yellow U16 by 32 runs in the final of their OC Junior Season 2021/22 on March 5, 2022.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, ISM made 198/6 in their 30 overs, turbocharged by Loya Devansh’s outstanding century. The player of the match occupied the crease from the first ball till the second-last, finishing on a 106-ball 128.

Shah Jeet Vrajesh was the other ISM batter to cross 30 runs. Prathiesh Hema Ramesh picked up 3 wickets in 6 overs and was his side’s star performer with the ball.

In response the MCCC fell short and were bundled out for 166 in 28.4 overs. Harshil Dinesh Shetty was their top scorer, falling 7 runs short of a half-century.

A handful of MCCC batsmen did get starts, but none of them were able to follow Devansh’s first innings lead and convert them into substantial totals. Mahesh Mukul, Shah Jeet Vrajesh and Girish Aditya claimed two wickets each for ISM.

After the final, Nizar Al Ghatrifi, the Depot Operations Head of Mazoon Dairy handed out the postseason awards. Lakshmi Narayana Satish of Indian School Seeb bagged the best batsman award, Harshil Dinesh Shetty of MCCC collected the best bowler award and Loya Devansh of Indian School Muscat took home the best All-rounder award.

The consolation bowling award went to Madhav Manish Saki of Indian School Ghubrah. Lakshmi Narayana Satish was the top scorer in the league, making 459 runs in 5 matches. Harshal Dinesh Shetty took 8 wickets in the same period.

BRIEF SCORES: ISM U16 198/6 in 30 overs (Loya Devansh 128(106) 12 x 4, 1 x 6; Prathiesh Hema Ramesh 22/3) beat MCCC U16 166/10 in 28.4 overs (Harshil Dinesh Shetty 43(59) 2 x 4; Girish Aditya 18/2) by 32 runs.
