Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) has denied what is being circulated on social media about an adventure group who went reportedly missing in Dhofar Governorate.
Speaking exclusively to Times of Oman, a PACDA official has denied that the news is baseless. “What is being circulated is incorrect as this group is missing and the truth of the matter is that an Omani team which consists of nearly 15 people went for trekking in the western region of Dhofar governorate, specifically in Shaat area in the Wilayat of Rakhiyout.”
He continued:” One of their colleagues fell from a high place to a place difficult to reach, and because of the ruggedness of the mountainous area, they went down to report it on Saturday evening."
He confirmed: "As rescue teams of the Public Administration of Civil Defence and Ambulance in Dhofar Governorate rushed to the scene of the accident, and rescue teams were able to reach and remove the person from that rugged area while he is in a severe critical condition."
He also added, "Rescue teams are still on the mountain, and he will be transferred to the hospital."He also confirmed that the death of a person cannot be predicted until he is examined in the hospital
