Oman health: Ambulance services no longer free

Muscat: First aid expenses provided by Royal Oman Police’s (ROP) ambulances is no longer free. If treated or if being transported in a ROP ambulance, then you have to pay.
“The rule was there in place since 2016 beginning, but has been put into action recently,” a senior official from ROP said.
According to the Chapter 4 of Unified Insurance Policy ratified by Arab countries in the beginning of 2016, the Insurer shall bear the cost of medical emergency services provided by ambulance crews working for the Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance at fixed amount of OMR400 (Rial Omani Four Hundred) for any single accident.
The Unified Insurance Policy was issued by Central Market Authority.
