Oman education: Indian School Muscat’s 10th Jhankaar Spectrum to be held this month

Muscat: More than 1,500 students from 16 Indian schools will take part in the Indian School Muscat’s (ISM’s) annual mega event, the 10th Jhankaar Spectrum, on Thursday, November 10, school authorities said.
Jhankaar Spectrum has provided a platform for students from Indian schools across the Sultanate to showcase their talent during the last few years.
The inaugural function will be held in the school’s multipurpose hall at 8:30 am.
Indra Mani Pandey, ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman will inaugurate the event, which will also draw members of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman, principals of all Indian schools in Oman, members of the Indian School Muscat Management Committee, dignitaries, parents, teachers, students and well wishers.
Some 1,500 exceptionally talented students will showcase their talent as they compete in 27 events at 17 different venues on the school premises.
The highlights of the events during the first half (10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) include 18 events—Western Dance, Indian Classical Dance, Bharatnatyam, Elocution (Senior), Indian Folk song, Street Play, Indian Light Vocal, Western Keyboard, Carnatic Vocal, Elocution (Junior), Essay Writing, Poetry Recitation, Short Movie Making, Create a TV Ad., Collage, Rangoli, Western Drums and Digital Photography and Album Making.
The second half (2:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m.) will encompass nine events—Mime, Indian Folk Dance, Indian Classical Dance, Western Vocal, Western Choral Singing, Comedy Skit, Indian Percussion (Tabla), Western Violin and Western Guitar. The first three winners for each of these competitions will be felicitated with trophies and certificates of merit.
Each participant will receive a certificate of participation.
A valedictory function will be held at 5:30 p.m. The chief guest for the event will be Wilson V. George, chairman, Board of Directors of Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The exceptionally talented school that excels in the event will be honoured with a much coveted trophy.
