Royal Oman Police arrests three for smuggling Khat into Oman

Muscat: Khat smugglers were stopped in their tracks as the Royal Oman Police foiled a smuggling attempt in Salalah.

An senior official at the the ROP said that the narcotics control team in Dhofar, in cooperation with the coast guards, foiled an attempt to smuggle 2665 bundles of Khat into the Sultanate.
The official also added that the three people involved tried smuggling the psychotropic herb via a boat where the team moved directly to the boats location and arrested the suspects.
Investigations are still ongoing.
