Latest: M91 fuel - it's time to ditch super in Oman?
Muscat: A new petrol grade, MOGAS 91, will be available in Oman from November 1 this year, His Excellency Salem Al Aufi, Undersecretary of Ministry of Oil and Gas, said at a press conference.
"We have been monitoring the usage of petrol by the consumers since the introduction of new pricing system and saw that people were heading towards the cheaper grade petrol," said Al Aufi.
"Studies show that many vehicles can run on MOGAS 91, so we decided to remove the M90 for MOGAS 91," he added.
Petrol stations will have two months between 1 November to the end of December 2016 to provide the new petrol grade.
