Muscat: An Indian doctor who suffered multiple fractures and brain injury in a road crash that left his mother dead is showing signs of recovery, hospital medics said.
“He was unconscious until yesterday. Now, he is showing some progress. He is recovering,” Dr Basheer A, senior internist at Badr Al Samaa, told Times of Oman.
Dr Binoy Mathai, the injured doctor, is an assistant cardiologist at the same hospital, and his wife is doing higher studies in medicine in India.
“He was travelling with his mother in the car. The car collided with a truck and his mother died on the spot,” Dr Basheer added.
“Hospital authorities are co-ordinating the work to repatriate his mother's body after the doctor recovers,” Dr Basheer added.
