The accident, which claimed the lives of Farhan’s father Beruz Darayus Irani, his mother Monaz Irani, younger brother Aaron Irani and his grandmother, happened at around 1:30am on Saturday in Al Khuwair.
According to relatives and friends of the deceased's family, the victims were returning to Muscat after a sightseeing trip in Rustaq.
“The family was returning from Rustaq after a sightseeing trip. Their vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed into a pillar of the bridge in Al Khuwair near the Muscat Bakery,” relatives said.
Farhan is a student at the Indian School Wadi Kabir.
The family hails from the western Indian state of Maharashtra and the relatives are in the process of making arrangements to repatriate the body to India.
“We are trying our best to repatriate the bodies as soon as possible,” Manoj added.
“Farhan’s grandparents had come to Oman for a visit,” Manoj said, adding that they are still struggling to console Farhan’s grandfather who has lost his wife, daughter, grandson and son-in-law.
