Muscat: A competition for designing a new logo has been announced by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC’s), Culture Sector.
The Ministry of Heritage and Culture tweeted about a competition to create a logo for “Strengthening the Gulf Identity.”
The competition is subject to terms and conditions, where the logo must contain all GCC countries as a unit, and highlight the GCC identity. It must be creative but not too detailed and those who wish to participate must keep in mind that the logo will be used for different media and documents. “The committee will also have the right to adjust or add to the logo as necessary,” said the announcement. The winning logo will fetch a cash reward of 10,000 and 15,000 Saudi Arabian Rials.
“Ownership of the logo will be transferred to the General Secretariat of the GCC after the winner receives the reward and signs a contract proving the act,” said the announcement.
Those who wish to participate must send their designs via a compact disc or flash drive, or on a coloured A4-sized page showing the logo or on a digital design page saved under the .jpg format.
Electronic copies must be sent in secure folders to the Directorate General of Organisations and Cultural Relation at the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
The final day for the submission of designs is on 21 March, 2016.
