Oman weather: Roads cut, power supply hit in parts of Sultanate

Muscat: Heavy rain fell in Rutsaq, Ibri, Nizwa and surrounding areas resulting in overflowing of wadis disrupting traffic and power supply.

According to National Committee for Civil Defense (NCCD), Izki-Mudhaibi, Ibra-Bidiayh, Nizwa-Bahla, Rustaq-Ibri, Rustaq-Meladha and Nakhal-Al Awabi road is cut due to overflowing wadis.

“Traffic on Bidbid – Ibra, Ibra – Bidiya, Ibra - Al Mudhaibi and Bidiya – Sur roads are also affected,” the NCCD tweeted.
Meanwhile, collapse of around 45 electricity poles has disrupted power supply in Ibri.
Police rescue teams had to handle several operations late night and still one person lost in Mudhaibi wadi is missing.
