Panorama, Oman’s newest mall, opens to people

Muscat: Panorama mall, the newest attraction in town, officially opened for the people of Oman on Thursday.
A shopping and leisure centre in Bausher, its grand opening included a lot of activities to add more colour to the event.
The mall is a venture of the Allied business group, which has an interest in the real estate and property development, hospitality and tourism, education and health sectors.
The total project consisted of a four-star Copthorne Hotel by Millennium, Somerset Service Residences from Singapore, an office tower and the Panorama Mall.
According to the Mall’s officials, it will be easily accessible via three major roads the Muscat Expressway, the Sultan Qaboos Highway and the July 23rd Street.
One of the special features of the Mall is that the floor and pillars will be fully covered with decorative marble.
“The ambience of the Mall will be truly pleasing for the visitors,” mall officials asserted.
The three floors of the mall are of the same length with lots of options for children and family entertainment.

According to the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Panorama Mall, at least 5,000 visitors a day are expected during the early stages of the mall being opened.
“We are expecting about 5,000 people per day in the early stages and as we continue to open more stores and market the mall, we will get upwards of 12,000 per day,” Tony Ward, the CEO told the Times of Oman.
“As our slogan states, customers will have “Better choices, Every day;” we are focusing on becoming the best mall and a preferred destination for families living here,” Ward added.
The mall is spread across three levels with 116 shops and ample parking facilities.
According to the mall’s spokesperson, 75 per cent of the shops have been leased, and around half of the shops have been opened.
Some of the attractions at the mall are brands, such as Spinney’s supermarket, a five-screen City Cinema, Twenty4, Awani Housewares, Siyabi International Home Design Centre, Electroman and Sports Gallery etc.
“Many brands are unique to Panorama Mall and they are here in Oman for the first time,” he added.
Furla exclusively for ladies handbags and accessories, Liu Jo clothing for men and women, Trussardi for men and women etc. are new to Oman.
The mall has both a large food court and casual dining options catering to wide range of customers visiting the mall.
London Fish & Chips, Chicking, Subway, etc. are some of the food outlets that are available in the food court.
The Panorama Mall is also bringing in regional themed cuisine, with brands, such as Somberero (Mexican), Palayok (Philippine), Mai Thai (Thailand), Kiwi Burger (New Zealand) etc. including local Omani cuisine.
As an initiative that supports the small and medium enterprise (SME) programme, a large traditional Omani souq (market) is also a part of the mall providing space for operating small retail businesses.
There is an area for children’s brands. Bambini Squisiti, one of the outlets in the kid’s corner, will provide products of different brands from the United States under one roof.
All children’s products up to the age of 16 are available at the outlet. Bella Peachy with Aigner, and Coccodrillo from Poland will add value to the variety.
The mall is spread over three floors and is conveniently accessible with the help of lifts, escalators, etc.
