Muscat: Indian School Muscat is gearing up to celebrate 50 glorious years of legacy and excellence in education with gala events highlighting its regal achievements and unity. ISM@50 ‘Celebrating the Past and Empowering the Future’ is a significant milestone marking half a century of the institution’s splendid progression and community engagement since its inception in 1975.
Indian School Muscat, a symbol of academic excellence and cultural diversity in Oman, is all set to astound with its grand jubilee year. The school, which has been a pillar of the Indian expatriate community in Muscat, will commemorate this momentous milestone by bringing together all stakeholders, including the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, the Indian School Muscat Management Committee, all the Indians Schools in Oman, principals, staff, students, alumni, parents and the wider community, providing an opportunity to reminisce, share stories, and celebrate the achievements of the past five regal decades.
The school stands as a testament to the harmonious relationship between the Indian diaspora and the welcoming embrace of the Omani government, which has graciously provided the space for the community to thrive and contribute to the nation’s cultural and educational diversity.
The year-long celebration commencing from April 2024 to March 2025, promises to be a mesmerising blend of music, dance, and cultural performances that pay tribute to the rich tapestry of Indian heritage, the school’s legacy of distinction in education and Oman’s vibrant culture.
As a part of ISM@50 celebration, a mascot, tagline and logo contest was conducted for the students and staff. The winners of the contest are: Best tagline -Mohammed Rayan Quraishi - XII D, Logo Design- Manikandan Govindaraji - staff, middle section. Mascot Design - Sajeev Mangattil Dasayya - staff, senior section.
Highlights of the 50th-anniversary celebrations include: ISM talks: Inspiring and motivating talks by distinguished speakers from BOD, SMC and alumni on topics technology integration in education, holistic profile of a learner in ISM, innovation, and the future goals and road maps at ISM,. Impact of ISM on individuals and the community.
Inter school and intra – school events such as Curtain Tales (Inter-House Drama Competition for Classes 9 to 12), Radiant Rhythms (Inter School Rock Fest for the students of all Schools) Palette Play - Painting Competition / ISM Got Talent (For the Students of ISM) and Winter Strokes- an art exhibition (For ISM & Other Schools).
Community Service Activities: Collaborative initiatives namely Blood donation camp and Zakkat aimed at giving back to the community and reinforcing the school’s commitment to social responsibility.
Reliving Moments – (For the parents and students of Indian School Muscat) there are some competitive events and non – competitive events such comedy skit, fashion show etc.
Kaleidoscope: An exhibition to show the memories and artifacts from the school’s history.
Staff engagement and team building activities ; Wow Fun and Vibes ( fun sports and cultural events).
Alumni reunion with fun sports and music night: A gathering of former students to reconnect, reminisce, and share their experiences since graduating from ISM.
Golden Gala Fair (Carnival) and Mega Stage Show- AURIUS 2025.
As the school looks back on its journey of growth and success over the past 50 years, it also looks ahead with optimism and determination towards a future filled with endless possibilities and new horizons. Planning and preparations for this colossal event has commenced from January 2024. All arrangements are being made with apt planning and utmost accuracy to make this year- long
celebration a grand success. Students, parents, staff, alumni, invitees and the wider community are all agog to witness the flurry of activities on this much awaited year.
