Japanese Embassy in Oman hosts ceremony to confer award

The Embassy of Japan in the Sultanate of Oman hosted on 7th of March 2024, at Crowne Plaza hotel a ceremony to confer the Order of the Rising Sun on Mr. Harib Al Kitani former Chief Executive Officer at Oman LNG.

The conferment ceremony was attended by a number of distinguished guests from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the State Council, Oman LNG and Japanese companies, as well as his family and friends. H.E. Jota YAMAMOTO, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman conferred the Order on Mr. Harib Al Kitani on behalf of the Government of Japan.

The Government of Japan announced on 3rd of November 2023, the conferment of the Order on Mr. Harib Al Kitani in recognition of his outstanding contribution to forge a long-established Japan-Oman  partnerships and networks in the energy field, leading to our continued collaboration towards clean energy and new business cooperation.

The Order of the Rising Sun, one of the prestigious decorations in Japan, was introduced in 1875.   The award of the order for non-Japanese nationals started in 1981.
