Muscat: The activities of Photography Week entitled 'Narrative' began at Sultan Qaboos University on Monday.
In its 27th edition, the event is being organised by the Photography Group of the Deanship of Student Affairs.
The number of photographic works on display reached 41, including portraits, nature pictures, and photography of some ancient and modern architectural facilities, in addition to artistic photography inside the studio and the abstract trend.
The exhibition included several interactive and creative corners, including the creative corner, video graphics, and the studio.
The idea of the week came to highlight the role of the image in communicating moral and narrative concepts and a language of dialogue that carries all thematic patterns, through artistic performances that simulate the effect of the image in building intellectual awareness and sensory communication.
Visitors to the exhibition can participate in the process of selecting the winning images by voting for the image. There is a jury to choose the winning images in the week’s competition and includes a group of university graduates. The exhibition also includes a competition for filming the best short video (reel) with internal artistic workshops.
The Photography Week will conclude its activities on March 20 under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Faris bin Turki Al Said, and the winners will be announced the same evening.
