Muscat: The weather condition over Oman is expected to begin to weaken on Monday, March 11, 2024, Oman Meteorology said. In the meantime, rainfall has been forecast across parts of Oman today.
The latest forecasts and analysis from the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center indicate the continuity of varying intensity rainfall today over the Governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Muscat, South Al Batinah and Dhofar with chances for Wadis flow.
In addition , isolated rain is expected over parts of the governorates of North Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, and the coastal areas of Al Wusta Governorate.
The impacts are expected to reduce starting tomorrow with chances for isolated rain over the Governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and the coasts of Dhofar.
This weather conditions are expected to be accompanied by :
1- Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall (10-50 mm) which may lead to flash flooding in the valleys.
2- Strong downdraft winds 15-30 knots.
3- Sea Waves are expected to be rough 2.0-3.0 m along most coastlines.
