Youth Sada launched the fifth cycle of the Youth Sada Centre programmes in partnership with bp Oman. The centre provides common spaces for youth in the Ad’Dhahirah region, which offers training programmes, activities, and interactive discussions to develop and implement a group of sustainable initiatives within the governorate. The centre also acts as a shared workspace and offers many services to support sustainable initiatives such as consultations, technical and logistical services, training for sustainable community work, regular meetings for idea sharing and discussing community concerns.
Khulood Al Farsi, Manager of the Youth Sada Centre, added: “The Youth Sada Centre represents an avenue for knowledge by providing creative spaces and consultation and training services. These services allow the youth to enhance and sustain their initiatives in community services. We hope this year we will be able to reach a wider group of beneficiaries and continue providing our services in high standards and thoroughness, hoping for a more sustainable impact on the community.”
The Youth Sada Centre plans to host various activities this year which include the Youth Work Forum, which aims to develop new community initiative ideas and enhance them further for implementation and greater impact. Other activities include training programmes for school students and governmental organisations, Exchange Forum, Youth Council Initiative, volunteering activities, and a school students’ competition in community services.
Ibrahim Al Hinai, Social Investment Manager at bp Oman, Kuwait and Qatar, commented: “These initiatives represent great importance to the community whereby through the last four cycles we were able to develop 79 initiatives with more than 5000 beneficiaries benefiting from various activities of the centre. This programme aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040 of enhancing education as well as supports bp’s sustainability aim of helping people build sustainable livelihoods and resilience.”
The Youth Sada Centre programme was awarded ‘Best Youth Initiative’ in 2019 by National Youth Commission and the Kuwait Humanitarian and Volunteering Work award in 2020.
