Muscat: At a cost of OMR 480,000, the internal road paving project in the Wilayat of Yanqul, Al Dhahirah Governorate has been completed.
The Municipality of Al Dhahirah, represented by the Municipality of Yanqul, completed a project to pave internal roads in the Wilayat of Yanqul in Al Dhahirah Governorate, with a length of 7 kilometers and a total cost of OMR 480,000 , in order to strengthen the road network system and keep pace with the requirements of population and urban growth and the development of infrastructure in the wilayat .
Engineer Salem bin Mohammed Al Sarkhi, Director of the Projects Department at Al Dhahirah Municipality, explained that the project connects the population centers in the Al Raki and Al Suwader areas and the Ibri dual carriageway - transporting and shortening the distance for those wishing to use the dual carriageway between Ibri and Sohar.
Al Sarkhi added that these roads primarily aim to reduce traffic congestion, facilitate movement and communication, streamline traffic between residential communities in the state, and facilitate school students’ access to and from their schools. The project will also work to create a healthy environment free of dirt and dust and social communication among residents, especially those living near the dual carriageway. It will save them time and congestion after they used to take a longer time before implementing the road. The project includes protections during rainfall and valley flows, in addition to guidance signs on its various paths.
It is worth noting that the area in which this road was implemented is currently witnessing an active urban movement, as a number of housing and commercial plans have been distributed and it contains a number of public and private schools that serve most of the villages and towns of the wilayat .
