Muscat: The 23rd edition of the Global Higher Education Exhibition (Ghedex 2024) commenced with a spectacular inauguration ceremony held on Sunday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The prestigious event, running from February 4 to 6, 2024, garnered immense enthusiasm and participation under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Kamil bin Fahad Al Said, Secretary-General at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Labor, Ghedex 2024 brings together a diverse array of local and international educational institutions. The exhibition serves as a pivotal platform connecting educational establishments with students eager to navigate and enhance their academic journeys.
Ghedex 2024 aims to facilitate meaningful interactions between students and participating educational institutions. The event offers students the opportunity to engage with universities and colleges, attend professional and mentoring workshops, and make informed decisions regarding higher education and future career paths. The exhibition also provides a comprehensive overview of the latest academic programmes and educational opportunities, fostering an interactive space for students, parents, officials, and academic representatives to engage with local and international institutions.
The Technical Education and Vocational Training Exhibition, known as "TrainEx," is another highlight, offering opportunities to strengthen technical and vocational specialisations while facilitating the acquisition of essential skills.
The Student Enterprises Zone is a focal point for innovators, hosting events in collaboration with government and private institutions specialised in creativity and innovation. Additionally, Ghedex 2024 includes specific zones such as Counselling, Workshops, and Talks, the Sports Activity Zone, Youth Engagement Zone, Ghedex Awards for Excellence in Higher Education and Human Capital Development, and the International Conference on Career and Higher Education Counselling. The latter brings together regional and international speakers and experts for consultations and discussions.
