Muscat: Sohar in North Al Batinah will host the 2nd West Asian Club Volleyball Championship, which will be held from February 1 to February 12, 2024.
Sohar Club revealed in a press conference that it has completed its preparations to host the Second West Asian Club Volleyball Championship, which will be held from February 1-12, with the participation of 11 clubs from eight Arab countries that are members of the West Asian Volleyball Association .
During the conference, the tournament mascot was announced, in addition to clarifying the location of the tournament matches, which will all be in the main hall of the Sports Complex in Sohar. While the Majis Club and Al Salam Club halls were designated for training for the club teams participating in the tournament. In addition to a number of accompanying events that will be held during the tournament period in cooperation with a number of governmental and sports institutions in the North Al Batinah Governorate.
The teams participating in the tournament were previously distributed into two groups. The first group included the clubs: Al-Rayyan of Qatar, Al-Ibtisam of Saudi Arabia, Al-Seeb of Oman, Baniyas of the Emirates, and Al-Qadisiyah of Kuwait, while the second group included the clubs: Khaibel Al-Mahra of Yemen, Al-Arabi of Qatar, Shabab Al-Hussein of Jordan, Al-Ahly of Bahrain, and Al-Kuwait of Kuwait, in addition to the tournament host is Sohar Club.
The participating teams will also play in each group for one round, then four teams from each group will advance to the second round. As for the teams that did not advance from among the four teams from each group, they will play to determine their positions from second to eleventh place.
The second round matches will be held with the first team from Group A playing against the fourth team in Group B, the second team in Group A against the third team in Group B, the third team in Group A against the second team in Group B, and the fourth team in Group A against the first team in Group B.

It should be noted that Sohar Club is considered the first club in the Sultanate of Oman to host an Asian championship, by hosting this tournament in cooperation with the Omani Volleyball Federation.
