Muscat: The Public Authority for Special Economist Zones and Free Zones has released the 34th edition of the Duqm Economic Quarterly Magazine. The main focus of this edition is on the volume of investments in economic and free zones, as well as industrial cities.
The leading article of Duqm Economist Magazine highlighted the achievements of the special economic and free zones across various investment sectors. It also discussed how the projects established in all regions supervised by the Authority meet the expectations of investors and align with the needs and ambitions of Oman. These involve the development of sustainable industries to achieve net-zero emissions, supporting SMEs, and attracting both local and foreign investment to meet the country's growth and investment needs.
The Duqm Economist Magazine has recently reviewed the green industries sector, which is a major focus for the Authority in the upcoming period. As per the Sultanate of Oman's directives to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, the Authority has successfully attracted pioneering projects in the renewable energy, green hydrogen, and green iron sectors during 2023 and in the previous years.
The Authority aims to take advantage of certain success factors, including the large areas of land available for investment in areas under the Authority's supervision, the availability of solar and wind energy, and the logistical infrastructure that supports investment in these projects.
Additionally, there are legislative provisions that stimulate investment and provide incentives to investors. The Duqm Economist Quarterly Magazine was first published in July 2015, containing 116 pages in both Arabic and English.
