Abu Dhabi: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, today took part a meeting of the 27th session of the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers (ATICM), held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr. Ahmed Hilal Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Arab Emirates.
In a speech at the event, Al Busaidi highlighted Oman’s efforts in developing the communications and information technology sector, notably through the initiatives of the Digital Economy Programme and the government’s approaches to economic diversification.
The conferees discussed various issues of relevance, including the Arab cybersecurity system and applications in the field of artificial intelligence.
The meeting also touched on challenges posed to the Palestinian communications sector as a result of the persistent occupation and aggression.
