Oman’s imports by October end top OMR12bn

Muscat: Total imports of the Sultanate of Oman till the end of October 2023 stood at OMR12.3 billion, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Imports of engine fuel (excluding jet fuel) reached OMR1.2 billion and imports of diesel for other uses stood at OMR581.1 million.

Further, imports for various items stood as follows: petroleum oil and bituminous mineral oils (OMR450.8 million), iron ores and its non-agglomerated compounds (OMR342.3 million), non-monetary raw gold bullion (OMR238.9 million) and other commodities (OMR9.4 billion).

Statistics indicated that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) came on top of the list with the highest imports (OMR3.3 billion), constituting 26.80 percent.

It was followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with OMR1.6 billion (12.99 percent).

Meanwhile, exports stood at OMR17.4 billion, according to the NCSI statistics.

Engine fuel exports (excluding jet fuel) stood at OMR7.9 million, while exports of diesel for other uses stood at OMR2.1 billion.

The exports of various items stood as follows: petroleum oil and bituminous mineral oils (RO 856.6 million), iron ores and its non-agglomerated compounds (RO 539.9 million), non-monetary raw gold bullion (RO 350.3 million) and exports of other commodities stood at RO 5.6 billion.

Moreover, the People’s Republic of China came at the top of the list with the highest exports (OMR7.5 billion), constituting 43.12 percent, followed by the Republic of Korea (OMR1.0 billion), comprising 6.15 percent. -ONA
