Muscat: HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik presided over the conclusion of a symposium titled “Strengthening national readiness to deal with advanced technologies” on Monday.
The symposium was organised by the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies at the Al Shafaq Club of the Sultan’s Forces. Armed (SAF).
The symposium was aimed at raising the Sultanate of Oman’s competitiveness and innovation indicators, assisting in initiating employment opportunities in domains of future technologies, enhancing environmental sustainability, cutting down greenhouse gas emissions, augmenting the efficiency of related institutions and accelerating digital transition plans.
The symposium, which saw the participation of government and private sector establishments, discussed means of building flexible government policies and effective systems to realise the Sultanate of Oman’s objectives.
HH Sayyid Shihab and the attendees toured an exhibition held on the sidelines of the symposium. The exhibition showcased models of Omani projects and companies operating in the field of advanced technologies. He also listened to a briefing on the technologies and innovations presented at the exhibition.
The closing ceremony of the symposium was attended by ministers, SAF commanders and other military and security departments. It was attended by members of the State Council, senior SAF officers and top officials of government departments and specialists in the field of modern technology.
