Crowe defeat BDO to clinch Auditors Cup for second time

MUSCAT: Crowe defeated BDO by eight wickets to clinch the 21st Auditors Cricket Cup for the second time at the Oman Cricket Academy in Al Amerat recently

Playing under floodlights, BDO scored 46/7 in the allotted overs. Captain Abu Hashim top-scored with 20. In reply, Crowe chased down the target in 4.5 overs. Ivan Manjila hit 14 and Rehan Sharif scored 26 runs in just 12 balls. Sharif was named the man of the match award. EY finished as second runner-up.

A total of nine teams from Oman took part in the annual event, which is organised by Jazz tournament.

Crowe had previously won the title in 2019.

The awards were distributed by chief guest Alkesh Joshi, Oman Cricket treasurer. Also present on the occasion were Davis Kallukaran (Crowe), Bipin Kapur (BDO), Imtiaz Ibrahim (EY), Muhammad Rafay (GT), Noman Rana (KPMG), Yousuf Khan (Moore), Farid Shaikh (Deloitte), Ignesh Lazar (Al Nuha International) and Vishal Dara (PwC).

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Crowe’s Managing Partner Kallukaran said: “It was a privilege to have Alkesh Joshi as chief guest. As a senior Oman Cricket board member, he is known for his exceptional contributions to cricket in Oman. He has also played a key role in developing women’s cricket.”
