Save the date for the narrative days which will be held at Shangri-La Barr al Jissah from 17th to 20th of December in collaboration with Bait Al Zubair Museum for the celebration of the United National Arabic Language Week- an annual celebration taking place on 18th December.
As part of this event, Shangri-La Al Husn will host an exclusive dinner with two internationally acclaimed authors on Tuesday 19th of December at Aangan by Rohit Ghai from 5pm to 8.30pm.
Diners will meet and dine alongside Omani writer Dr. Jokha Alharthi, known for her novel Sayyidat al-Qamar, which won the Man Booker International Prize in 2019 and was published in English as Celestial Bodies. She has written four Arabic novels - Harir al-Ghazala and Narinjah - of which two were translated into English; and Geetanjali Shree won the International Booker Prize 2022 and Warwick Prize 2022 for the English translation of her novel Ret Samadhi or Tomb of Sand. Its French translation, Au-dela de la Frontier, was shortlisted for the Emile Guimet Prize.
A 6-course set menu featuring vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be served and guests will also receive two books signing from each author. The dinner is set at OMR 40 for vegetarians and OMR 45 for non-vegetarian set menu.
