Ahmedabad: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) discussed strengthening cooperation aspects , with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), during a meeting between Dr Abdullah bin Masoud Al Harthi, member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Head of the Supervisory Committee of the Omani CFO Programme, with the President of (ICAI), on the sidelines of the Chamber’s participation in the Global Professional Accountant Convention (GloPact), which is being held at Ahmedabad city in India.
The bilateral meeting touched on the mechanism to develop the accounting profession in the Sultanate of Oman, while the Chamber, in cooperation with the institute’s branch in Muscat, organised the Omani CFO programme, which aims to develop and create qualified national human cadres that contribute to provide enriching services in the accounting profession by through career development opportunities, and to raise the efficiency of workers, creating mechanisms that support their entrepreneurial projects and enhancing the cadres’ professional skills in the accounting and finance Field.
The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry participation in the convention of (GloPact) also included, a presentation of a working paper on the advantages and investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman, where Mahmoud bin Abdul Majeed Al-Hooti from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, highlighted the advantages of investment in the Sultanate of Oman, focusing on the most prominent investment opportunities, investment laws, incentives, and the sectors targeted for investment in the Sultanate of Oman.
