Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), has arrested two smugglers with more than 84 kilograms of hashish and 19 kilograms of crystal in North Al Batinah Governorate.
"The North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested two people of Asian nationality on charges of smuggling more than 84 kilograms of hashish and 19 kilograms of crystal. The legal procedures are being completed against them," ROP said in a statement.
Over 50 expats arrested for violating marine law
In another incident, more than 50 expatriates were arrested for practicing marine fishing without a license in Al Wusta Governorate.
"Fish Control in Al Wusta Governorate, in cooperation with the Al Wusta Governorate Police Command, represented by the Coast Guard Unit in Duqm, and through the national campaign, arrested 57 of violating expatriate workers practicing the marine fishing profession without a license and seized 14 fishing boats, along with their engines, and a number of illegal nets," Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Al Wusta Governorate said.
