Joint Omani-Iranian projects on anvil at economic, freezones

Muscat: Dr Ali Masoud Al Sunaidi, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), received Hojjatullah Abdul Maliki, Advisor to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Secretary of the Supreme Council of Iranian Commercial, Industrial and Special Economic Free Zones, and his accompanying delegation currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.

The two sides discussed ways of activating the provisions of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that the two countries signed earlier. The MoU deals with encouraging companies operating in economic zones and free zones to establish commercial relations and set up branches for implementing joint projects.

It is worth noting that Opaz signed a memorandum of understanding with the Iranian side to spur economic and investment development and highlight the competitive advantages of special economic zones and free zones in the two countries.
