State Council holds first session of 8th term

Muscat: The State Council on Wednesday held its first session of the eighth term’s 1st sitting to elect the two deputy chairmen and members of the council’s office.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdulmalek Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

During the session, Salim Musallam Qutn and Sheikh Dr. Hilal Ali Al Hinai were elected as Deputy Chairmen. The two positions were contested by 17 members (6 of whom were female).

As for members of the State Council’s Office, the following were elected as members: Mohammed AbuBakr Al Ghassani, Eng. Ahmed Saleh Al Jahdami, Sayyida Rawam Ahmed Al Busaidi and Dr. Aisha Hamad Al Darmaki.
