Istanbul: The Sultanate, represented by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) is participating in the activities of the GCC–Türkiye Economic Forum, which kicked off here, on Saturday, with the participation of a number of officials and businessmen from the various AGCC States.
The forum aimed to strengthen the relations between the AGCC States and the Republic of Türkiye and to increase the volume of exchange of trade between the two sides.
Mohammed bin Nasser Al Maskari, Member of the Board of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Branch in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and head of the Sultanate’s delegation taking part in the forum said that the Sultanate’s participation in the forum aimed at availing from the discussions and acquainting from the promising the investment opportunities that serve the Omani private sector as such forums offer the Omani businessmen the oportunity to exchange expertise with their Turkish and GCC counterparts.
He said that the forum would discuss a number of issues related to food security and the infrastructure, transport, logistics, tourism, industry, energy, finance and investment among other promising sectors.
He also pointed that the Omani–Turkish relation is rapidly progressing as the exchange of trade between the two countries has seen a rapid increase since 2017.
He said that there are 35 Turkish companies operating in the Sultanate in the field of contracting and engineering.
The Sultanate’s delegation comprises a number of businessmen and entrepreneurs from the various sectors.
