Wuhu, China: Chery International, a leading Chinese automotive company hosted a five-day summit, with the theme “New Journey, New Life,” aimed at creating a new ecosystem with Chery’s global users. The user summit had more than 500 participants from over 40 countries, including country managers, car owners, brand ambassadors and media professionals. As per the Kantar-Google joint report of 2023 Chinese Global Brand Builders Top 50, Chery is the top Chinese automotive brand, and ranks #14 among all Chinese brands, in a list that includes brands like Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi.
The Chery Ecosystem
At an exhibition at the Chery Headquarters in Wuhu, Anhui Province, attendees could experience an ecological product exhibition area showcasing how the brand integrates with the lifestyle of its users. Co-branded merchandise include camping equipment, intelligent glasses, beauty refrigerators, electric skateboards, pet friendly equipment and more. Apart from the Chery brand (which includes the Tiggo and the Arrizo lines, which will be launched in Oman in December), other brands on exhibition were Exeed, Omoda and Jaecoo, focused on a range of New Energy Vehicles highlighting their commitment to bringing green, eco-friendly models all over the world.
2023 Tech Day
As a part of the co-creation conference, Chery International organized the 2023 Tech Day. There was never-seen-before technology on display, including a proprietary chassis that supports a wide array of vehicles, cutting-edge battery technology, and car AI that gives the driver health advice based on current vitals.
At Tech Day, Chery unveiled a slew of autonomous driving technologies centered on the Robotaxi model, showing its achievements in “electrification, intelligence, connectivity, and sharing,” and unlocking new horizons for intelligent mobility of the future. In terms of intelligent interaction, the integration of ChatGPT in vehicles is another innovation by Chery. It elevates the vehicle-user interaction to a new echelon, enabling users to effortlessly execute task commands through simple “conversations” with their vehicles, ushering in a more intuitive interactive experience.
Chery also took users on a tour of its 200 million OMR production base spread over 830,000 square meters. The factory has the capability of rolling our 60 cars per hour.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Two significant CSR activities were launched during the course of the New Journey New Life Summit.
On October 17th, Chery International announced a new partnership with UNICEF, to help support the provision of quality education to children worldwide. Chery International and IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) signed of a Memorandum of Understanding. In the future, both parties will explore new models of ecological protection and restoration of forests, wetlands, and oceans through innovative action directions, actively advancing the protection of global vulnerable environments.
This was followed by a bicycle riding event for 1910 cyclists who rode for 5 km through the scenic Shenshan Park in Wuhu.
User Ecosystem Theme Conference, and the launch of WCWL 2.0
On October 18th, Chery International hosted the User Ecosystem Conference, where Mr Zhang Guibing, (President, Chery International) spoke about the changing consumer and the need for customer satisfaction, which drives advocacy for the Chery brand. Vehicle owners from countries like Saudi Arabia, Australia and Russia spoke about their ownership and service experiences with Chery.
During the course of the conference, an award ceremony honored brand ambassadors from its key markets. As a part of With Chery With Love (WCWL 2.0), Chery aims to engage with the global community in co-creating value through a diversified product layout that encompasses various scenarios and demographics.
Oman Launch
Speaking to the media, Mr Shen Xiantian, Chery’s regional manager for the Middle East said that the brand has done extensive consumer research with its regional partners, to develop vehicles for the Middle East. Recognizing the need for vehicles that perform under extreme conditions of weather, Chery is confident that the products being launched this year will exceed customer expectations and win trust. Chery also understands that customer confidence is built by strong post-sales service and availability of affordable parts, and has incorporated this into its market strategy.
Chery is set to launch its new range of technologically advanced and reliable cars in Oman at the end of 2023, with the Saud Bahwan Group. Delegates from Oman were also a part of the summit led by the GM of Chery Oman, Mr Ahmed Salaheldin. As one of the largest business houses in Oman, Saud Bahwan Group has a large portfolio of globally renowned automotive brands. The Group also has a very strong sales and after-sales service network throughout Oman, and has built a strong reputation for offering fine customer experiences.
In the future, Saud Bahwan Group will establish Chery showrooms and after-sales service agencies in major cities in Oman to promote enriching customer experiences. Chery is expected to grow its presence to become one of the top brands in Oman in the coming years and strengthening local consumers’ awareness of Chinese brands further fulfilling the mission of Chinese brands going global.
