Muscat: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers on Wednesday received GCC ministers of endowments, religious and Islamic affairs who are taking part in the 9th meeting being hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.
After welcoming the guests, HH Sayyid Fahd expressed appreciation of the Sultanate of Oman for the benign efforts exerted in fields of endowments and religious affairs, as well as protection of religious and family values in GCC societies.
He also underscored the importance of continuing the joint action to portray the real image of Islam and its respect to Heavenly religions, as well as the role of Islam in ensuring the basic rights of people to live in peace, security and stability.
Conversation during the meeting touched on the issues concerning the Islamic world to confront campaigns of hatred and fanaticism. It underlined the necessity of consolidating principles of justice and equality among people everywhere.
The meeting also reviewed the current situations at the Arab arena and stances of countries towards them. HH Sayyid Fahd lauded the endeavours of GCC states to protect the dignity of man and his legitimate rights.
In their turn, the GCC ministers of endowments, religious and Islamic affairs expressed their thanks for Oman’s host of this meeting being the chair of the GCC current session. They also appreciated the good preparations of the meeting that contributed in reaching positive outcomes serving the GCC joint action in addressing the ongoing global developments and limiting their negative impacts on the countries of the region. They also extended their greetings to His Majesty the Sultan for the exquisite hospitality.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Ma’amari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs and Sultan Al Suwaidi, GCC Assistant Secretary General. -ONA
