Residents of several areas to be evacuated ahead of Cyclone Tej

Muscat: In preparation for dealing with the tropical cyclone Tej, the residents of the Halaniyat Islands and coastal areas in the Wilayats of Salalah, Rakhyut and Dhalkut in Dhofar Governorate will be evacuated.

The National Committee for Emergency Management decided at its meeting to evacuate residents of the Halaniyat Islands and coastal areas in the Wilayats of Salalah, Rakhyut and Dhalkut in preparation for dealing with the tropical weather condition Tej.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Inspector General of Police and Customs, Chairman of the Committee, confirms that all measures will be taken to support response operations and support them with the necessary resources and capabilities in the places expected to be affected by the tropical situation in the Dhofar and Al Wusta Governorates.
