Salalah: The Ministry of Health has decided to suspend work in the specialised clinics in complexes 1 and 2 of Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, starting from Sunday.
Work will resume on October 29, and the appointments will be rescheduled due to the governorate being affected by the tropical situation ‘Tej’.
Scheduled operations at Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah have also been postponed, starting from Sunday, and will resume on October 29, with the exception of emergency operations. Operating dates will be rescheduled after the end of ‘Tej’.
This measure has been taken in reference to Alert No. (2) issued by the National Early Warning Centre regarding multiple risks, and as a follow-up to developments in the weather situation that will affect the Dhofar Governorate, and out of the Ministry of Health’s concern for the safety of visitors.
The National Centre for Emergency Management held a meeting headed by Major General Abdullah bin Ali Al Harthi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations, Vice Chairman of the National Committee for Emergency Management, to review the developments of the tropical situation ‘Tej’ and its expected effects on the governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta to mitigate its effects in the coming days.
The committee heard a briefing from the Civil Aviation Authority on developments related to the tropical situation.
Flights between Muscat and Salalah airports will also be intensified during the next 24 hours to enable the transportation of stakeholders and families who wish to move during the tropical situation.
