London: The Omani-British Association held its annual luncheon in London, in which Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthy,
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Diplomatic Affairs, participated as a guest of honour from the Omani side, and Lord Gerry Grimstone as a guest of honour from the British side.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthy delivered a speech on this occasion in which he praised the distinguished historic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom.
He said that strengthening economic relations with Britain is in the interest of the Sultanate of Oman, and thanked the members of the association for the efforts they are making to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries.
For his part, Lord Grimstone spoke about the importance that his country attaches to its relationship with the Sultanate of Oman and its appreciation for the role it plays in the region.
The banquet was attended by Ambassador Badr bin Mohammed Al Mandhari, the Sultanate of Oman’s accredited ambassador to the United Kingdom, retired Major General Richard Stanford, President of the Association, members of the Association and diplomats from the embassy. With ONA inputs
