Muscat : Tourism promotion workshops for the Sultanate of Oman in the Gulf market have begun in the State of Kuwait.
Mobile promotional workshops organised by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism were launched in the State of Kuwait to introduce the heritage and tourism components of the Sultanate of Oman and promote them in the Gulf market under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saleh bin Amer Al-Kharusi, the accredited ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Kuwait.
15 local companies representing travel agencies and tour operators will participate in the introductory seminars, in addition to the participation of a number of hotel sector and destination management institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
The promotional workshops in the Gulf market come to attract more tourists from the Gulf market in line with the objectives of the tourism sector strategy 2040 . In addition to reviewing the importance and diversity of the Omani tourism product for the Gulf market, communicating with major tourism companies in the GCC countries , concluding joint cooperation agreements, introducing regional companies to the most important tourism components in the Sultanate of Oman, and learning about the latest developments in the Omani tourism sector, upcoming developments, and special promotional offers.
The promotional workshop program in the State of Kuwait included a welcome speech by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and a visual presentation by the Ministry’s tourism representative office in the Gulf to introduce the most important tourist destinations in the Sultanate of Oman. In addition to the start of bilateral meetings, joint meetings and working hours between representatives of participating Omani tourism institutions and facilities with their counterparts in the Gulf market, in addition to meetings with various media outlets.
The workshops will continue until October 5, travelling to four Gulf countries (the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates).
The winter season represents a special season for tourism promotion in the Sultanate of Oman, as the total number of visitors to the Sultanate of Oman from January to August 2023 reached 2.6 million visitors, an increase of 48.1 percent compared to the number of visitors during the same period last year.
