Seminar highlights the march of Shura in Oman

Muscat: A seminar titled “Shura Council: Reality & Aspirations” was held here today under the patronage of Sayyid Saud Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat.

The seminar was organised by Oman Journalists Association with the participation of a number of experts and specialists in the Council of Oman, as well as academic, legal and civil society institutions.

The event included two sessions as the first one touched on the legislative development in regulating the work of the Shura Council, the elections of its members, and the march of Shura in the Sultanate of Oman.

Meanwhile, the second session dealt with the political participation of Omani woman as a member of the Shura Council, in addition to the role of media in raising the society’s awareness on the importance of national participation in the Shura Council's elections.
