Rainfall expected in several parts of Oman :Meteorology

Muscat: Rainfall ranging between 20-30 mm is expected over a number of governorates of the Sultanate of Oman on Monday , September 18, 2023, said Oman Meteorology.

According to Oman Meteorology, the affected areas that may witness rainfall are the mountainous areas of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Batinah and North Al Batinah Governorates.

"The expected impacts are rainfalls ranging between 20-30 mm, downdraft winds of 20-35 knots, poor horizontal visibility due to duststorms during thundershowers and chances of overflowing valleys," the Meteorology added.

Oman Meteorology has advised people to move away from low-lying areas, not to attempt to swim in valleys. It has also been recommended for people to supervise their children and make sure they stay away from approaching or crossing valleys in order to ensure safety.
