Omani-Italian joint military exercise 'Jabal Shams 3' begins

Muscat: The joint Omani/Italian military exercise (Jabal Shams 3) began in the friendly Republic of Italy.

 The exercise will continue with the participation of a force from the South Oman Battalion of the Royal Omani Army with the Italian ground forces represented by the Italian Army's 2nd Mountain Infantry Battalion.

 A brief was presented on the preparatory stages of the exercise and what it includes of training programmes and practical applications, in a manner that achieves the envisaged training objectives.

 The implementation of this exercise comes within the framework of the annual training programmes carried out by the Royal Omani Army with friendly countries and aims to exchange experiences and activate joint military training and exercises plans, in addition to maintaining the levels of training and combat competence of its members.
