Training in NWS based on the latest professional practices

Muscat: Nama Water Services is considered to be one of the prominent companies that work on besides other institutions to develop and enhance the potential of Omani Youth including the graduates and students – who are still in school – and job seekers as well. The aim of this effort is to provide the target students with training opportunities according to the strategies and plans developed to refine these youth with knowledge and skills that are expected to support them in their future careers.

Taqi bin Mohammed Al Lawati, Chief Executive of the Human Resources and Culture Unit commented on this initiative: “Nama Water Services is committed to supporting the national trends for the youth development. We are proud of training young people and making use of the theoretical knowledge that they acquired during their academic careers. We provide them with the opportunity to engage in an innovative and stimulating work environment that encourages them to Intellectual creativity. In addition, it will assist them in mastering the required skills through practical that can gain from the expertise and competencies who work in this Company.”

During the first half of this year, more than 350 trainees benefited from the training opportunities provided by the company. Regarding this raise in the number of trainees, the Chief Executive of the Human Resources and Culture Unit stated that this is a result of the established training plan that aims to give young people the opportunities they need for practical training. In addition, it’s the continuous follow-up that takes place to ensure that the trainee receives the required doses of practical training, and the prepared program is considered good nutrition for the students, as the training takes place under continuous guidance from the company’s highly qualified expertise.

The trainee participates in practical and field projects and works alongside with various departments that he learns from them during this professional friction, latest technologies, and methods used in the business execution. Some of the trainees also get opportunities to attend seminars and workshops.
