The project aims to conduct a field study and field surveys to determine the numbers of young loggerhead turtles, the extent of the success of their nests, identify the difficulties they face, and develop practical solutions for them, in addition to strengthening the national capabilities of ecosystem supervisors on Masirah Island, Al Halaniyat Islands, Daymaniyat Islands, and Ras Al Hadd.
The project will be implemented over a period of 5 years, starting from 2022, in implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the government of the Sultanate of Oman and the government of the United States in the field of environment and wildlife conservation.
