Omani soldier dies in Dhofar

Muscat: An Omani soldier died in an accident in the Dhofar governorate on Friday.
According to officials, the soldier, Khalid Khamees Al Sawai, died after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving in Madinat Alhaq in the Wilayat of Taqah.
In a statement online, the National Committee for Civil Defence (NCCD) expressed its condolences to the family of soldier Khalid Khamees Al Sawai from the West Borders Battalion, who it described as a the national martyr.
The statement said that Al Sawai died while on duty, helping those affected by the recent cyclone that hit Dhofar and Al Wusta.
