Mumbai: Three Omani films have taken part in the 11th edition of Film Festival of India, which will continue in Mumbai, India up to 10 September.
The Sultanate’s participation came through Oman Film Society with the screening of ‘Al Manyour’ movie of Director Abdullah Al Ajmi and the ‘Al Makasarah’ and ‘Hashaf’ movies for Director Dalilah Al Darei .
Al Manyour movie showcases the Omani Al Zamat Art while Al Makasarah documents the habit of bargaining at Nizwa Souq between sellers and buyers and reaching an agreed upon price for the goods.
The Al Makasarah movie concentrates on the Omani Khanjar (dagger) which forms part of the identity of the Omani heritage.
Hashaf film tells the story of a woman who lives in a distant Omani village and how villagers stick to their way of living.
Director Mohammed Al Ajmi said that the participation in international festivals would provide the participants with the opportunity to acquaint with other experiences including knowing about the differ cultures.
Oman participations in international events aimed to showcase the Sultanate’s heritage, he added.
