Muscat: Thunderstorms associated with fresh downdraft winds have continued to affect Al Hajar mountains and the adjoining areas for the third day in a row.
The thunderstorms will affect mountainous areas of South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi and South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
Oman Meteorology added in its Saturday weather forecast that rainfall will range between (10-30) mm, along with downdraft wind (15-35) knots, associated with hail, in addition to poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thunderstorms and flash floods (wadis).
Furthermore, Oman Meteorology has advised people to immediately move away from low places and wadis, and not to attempt to swim in wadis. It also recommended not to risk crossing wadis to protect, and to keep an eye on children and never allow them to approach wadis.
